We're Bringing Dumpster Domination to the Protozone at Brussels Game Festival
Some news we've been sitting on for a little while: Dumpster Domination has been selected for the Protozone at the Brussels Game Festival.
Twelve prototypes make it into the Protozone. Ours is one of them.
What we've been doing
Most of the past few months went into the rulebook. Not the fun part — the fiddly part. Working out which phase names actually communicated what happens in them, cutting the edge cases nobody hit, and rewriting the same paragraph until a stranger could read it once and play.
The four phases landed as Sniff → Scheme → Scrap → Stash. Every one of those names survived rounds of discussion to find the right fit.
What the Protozone is
The Protozone is the Brussels Game Festival's space for games that don't exist yet — unpublished prototypes, still being figured out, still changing.
We're so excited to be there. This is the first time Dumpster Domination gets put in front of a room full of strangers, and we cannot wait. We want to see the moment someone realises they've been outplayed by a rat. We want to hear the groan when a plan falls apart in the Scrap phase. We want to find the people who get as loud and stupid about this dump as we do.
Come play it. Come tell us it's brilliant, or come tell us it's broken — honestly, both would make our weekend.
Thanks
To everyone who sat down and played a rough version, argued about a rule, or told us something didn't work: thank you. You built this as much as we did.
Come find us
We'll be there with a table, a stack of cards, and a rat's-eye view of the dump. Pull up a chair — the trash isn't going to fight over itself.
Sniff. Scheme. Scrap. Rule the Dump.
